Pet Finder Pet of the Week - Shadow

I usually wait to Wednesdays to do the Pet Finder spotlight of the week but because of the demise of Martha Stewart's Chow Chow dog Little Genghis Khan and the other dogs that lost their life at his boarder's home in a terrible fire we decided to do a spotlight on a Chow Chow.

So this week we put the spotlight on Shadow a 5 year old male Chow. Here is Shadow's story:

Shadow is a very small (only 33 Lbs), 5-year-old, sweet and gentle, neutered Chow Chow who was abandoned at the city shelter when his former owners claimed they "couldn't afford" him. Apparently, former owners weren't capable of brushing their dog, clipping or keeping him clean. Shadow's fur was extremely dirty and matted and his rear end was impacted with dried, stuck feces. Shadow had to be almost entirely shaved. Please don't let the (now) shaved look fool you. When grown back, Shadow's fur will be long and dense. He needs a person or family who will be willing and capable to properly care for Shadow's coat. We are thus seeking adopters who have previous experience caring for a Chow Chow (or similar dog) and preferably, a checkable vet or grooming reference. Shadow is extremely sweet and loving and former owners indicated he was good with kids. He is easy to walk on leash and very small for a Chow. He is a good size for a city apartment. If interested in sweet Shadow, please CALL us (not email!) at (212) 427-8273. This charming, little "bear like" dog needs someone who can care for and appreciate him for the lovable, precious dog he is.

This pet is up to date with routine shots.
This pet is already house trained.
This pet has been altered.

We here at the PPP like to spotlight the pets that need a little extra help in the universe to get adopted and find a home and that is why we chose Shadow. He is so cute and will make a perfect companion. Remember his hair will grow in soon. So please, please if you know of anyone who can adopt Shadow and give him the loving home he deserves please call the number provided in this post.

I wish every pet could be as lucky as me! Chow for now!
